Within the Group section of the Fabrication Manager, you have a straightforward way to manage your groups and customize the settings for grouping multiple elements into a single entity. Here's what each column signifies:

  1. Name: This column displays the names of available groups.
  2. ID: It represents the unique identification for each group.
  3. State: Shows the current state of the group, applicable only in workshared documents.
  4. 3D: Provides a 3D ortho view of the group.
  5. Sheets: Displays related sheets associated with the group.
  6. Schedules: Allows you to view the schedule(s) linked to that group.
  7. Temporary Hide/Isolates: Provides access to temporarily hidden or isolated 3D views associated with the assembly.
  8. Colors: Displays colors randomly generated by the Allied software, which can be applied to the group.
  9. Numbers of Groups: Shows the total count of groups in your project.
  10. Manage Packaging:
    1. Create Package: To create a new package from a group, select the group you want, then click the "Create Package" icon . A popup will appear, allowing you to enter the preferred name, and then click "Save."
    2. Add to Package: To add the selected group to an existing package, choose the group and click the "Add to Package" icon . A new popup will open, asking you to select the package from a dropdown. Choose the package you want and click "Confirm."
    3. Remove From Package: If you wish to remove a group from a package, select the group you want to remove, and click the "Remove From Package" icon . A confirmation popup will appear, asking if you want to confirm the removal. Click "Confirm" if you want to proceed.

Simplified Access to Group Functions:

You can conveniently access a range of group-related features with a simple right-click of your mouse. Choose from a set of options described in the following lines to streamline your workflow.

  1. Change State: This option lets you change the state of the group, but it only works in workshared documents.
  2. Rename GroupType: Use this to rename the highlighted group.
  3. Rename (Advanced): For more advanced renaming, including adding prefixes, numbers, names, and suffixes.
    1. To Selected: Choose this if you want to rename only the selected group(s).
    2. To All: If you want to rename all groups within the project, go for this option.

  1. Set Color: Change the random color used to distinguish groups in the Fabrication Manager; it doesn't represent the actual color of the group.
  2. Set Color for Group: Similar to the above, this allows you to adjust the color assigned to a specific group.
  3. Isolate Group(s): Isolate the 3D view associated with the selected group to focus on it.
  4. Create Package: To create a package from chosen groups, select the group, right-click, and choose "Create Package." A popup will appear, letting you input your preferred package name. Enter it and click "Save."
